Acclaimed Actor, Humanitarian, Author, and Icon, Sir Roger Moore has passed away. A veteran of Film and Television, Moore is most famous in taking over the role of Agent 007 in the James Bond series and starred in 7 films portraying the character.
His roles in Television were the being the cousin, Beau Maverick in the Western based TV series Maverick, replacing James Garner, who left the series following a dispute. He also starred in the 60’s British television series, “The Saint ” as suave Simon Templar and the 70’s action-comedy series, “The Persuaders” with Tony Curtis on British TV.
Moore received his Knighthood from the Queen not for his portrayal of the debonair Secret Agent 007, but for his charity work as goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund for over a decade.
Moore passed away after succumbing to Cancer while living in Switzerland. He will be missed by his friends and family.
