Vice President Kamala Harris is heading for a Presidential nomination can she win??

Current Vice President Kamala Harris has been setting the Political world on fire with the current President, Joe Biden endorsing her for President.

Biden has dropped his re-election bid for the office amid pressure from his own party, and the Press following a poor performance in the first debate again Republican nominee, former President, Donald J Trump.

Between criticism from newspapers like the Washington Post, the New York Times, The Chicago Tribune among others for Biden to drop out based on his debate performance.

Biden initially doubled down staying in the race unless there was no path to victory.

Biden upon the consultation of Family and others in his personal circle, Biden announced he was ending his bid for re-election of the Presidency and endorsed his Vice-President, Kamala Harris for President.

Although the Democratic Nation Convention isn’t until August, the reaction to the endorsement has been more than enthusiastic.

Within 48 hours of the announcement the campaign has received more that two- hundred and fifty million dollars in donations and polling having here close to a statistical dead heat with the former President.

He claims, Donald Trump wants to debate her, biut not on the ABC network

We’ll see how this all shakes out because the Democratic Nation Convention hasn’t been held yet, so the nomination isn’t a “lock” for a confirmation and that’s where it counts

It’s offical President Joe Biden drops out for re-election bid for President

Following a weak Presidential debate performance against former President Donald J Trump, President Joe Biden has opted to bow out of his Presidential campaign for a second term.

Biden drew essentially universal criticism from the Press and members of his own party for his poor performance on the debate stage.

Members of his own party began to turn on him by “piling on” and urged the sitting President drop out of the race. Then Democratic donors began holding their donations to the party and Campaign.

The drumbeat to drop out of the race began building to a crescendo.

Different polls at the time showed Biden either down to Trump by a few points or at a dead heat and tied depending on the poll.

The President was formally steadfast in not dropping out of the race vowing to stay in.

The President is in his home in Delftware recovering from COVID-19.

He has endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris for a Presidential run.

The jury is out on this latest development as the Democrats hold their 2024 Convention in Chicago on August 19-22nd and how this will play out

Let’s see what happens then.

It wasn’t a shock at all and especially to the Groovisphere  that former President Donald J Trump is the Republican nominee for President.

The 3 say event  from July 15th-18th which included the usual rah rah speeches from members of the  Republican party with some surprise endorsers like retired Pro wrestler Hulk Hogan lent to the usual festivities which was capped off by a 93 minute acceptance by the former President himself.

All this was an energized event bolstered by the attempted assassination of the President a few days earlier…

Trump dodges assination attempt….

Wow we never thought this would happen! Former President and Presidential hopeful Donald J Trump, narrowly missed an assassins bullet grazing his ear recently.

The President was holding a rally for his supporters in Pennsylvania.

As shots rang out some of Trumps supporters were wounded and one supporter was killed while he was protecting his family

The shooter was killed by Secret Service the President’s security team and as the President was rushed off stage.

The alleged shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot by snipers of the Secret Service.Crooks worked in a local nursing home kitchen just a short drive away from his home in Bethel Park in Pennsylvania

In his address to the nation President Joe Biden made the following remarks,

“I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania, he said. “I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well.”

In the statement, Biden said he’s praying for him and his family, as well as everyone at the rally.

Shortly after releasing the statement, Biden delivered remarks to the nation.

Ironically Cooks was a registered Republican, but had recently reported to have donated $15 to liberal campaign group ActBlue in 2021.

Law enforcement is conducting further investigation on what may have motivated Mr Crooks in his alleged assassination  attempt on the former President.

 

Supreme Court Says President does have Immunity..kinda

In a 6-3 ruling voting down ideological lines that the Supreme Court has ruled that the President does have ” some immunity” while in office if only under “official acts” while in office.  Former presidents have full immunity from prosecution for actions that were within their constitutional powers as president, but not for private acts.

This decision rendered by the Court seemingly broadly but  does not clarify what are, “offical acts”and further stated in their reasoning that saying presidents cannot carry out their duties effectively with the threat of potential prosecution hanging over every decision. A former president has “at least a presumptive immunity” for “acts within the outer perimeter of his official responsibility,” the court asserted.

This is a critical blow for any Prosecution for the government to what is an “offical act” for a President and what isn’t. To do this would take months of evidentiary hearings and court rulings that could further narrow the case.

The liberal wing of the court saw it differently. They essentially the President Cart Blanche to do as they pleased regardless of the circumstances

In a written dissent, Justice Sonia Sotomayor said that under the interpretation presented in the ruling, a president could not be prosecuted for organizing a military coup, taking bribes or even ordering the assassination of a political rival.

“Never in the history of our republic has a president had reason to believe that he would be immune from criminal prosecution if he used the trappings of his office to violate the criminal law. … With fear for our democracy, I dissent,” Sotomayor said.

We’ll see how this will effect the other cases again’t the former President and how the charges will be amended if any of the other cases can still move forward and possibly when.

The first Presidential debate between former President Donald J. Trump and current President Joseph Biden is over and yielded a various bag of conclusions.

President Biden looked old and slow, while the former President looked vibrant and sharp.

Biden’s voice was hoarse and lacked forcefulness was the former President was clear and strong.  President Biden’s performance could be perceived as “weak” and could have validated Republican and his detractors beliefs.

Many are citing, “age” as a factor and his performance proved their point.

President Biden is back on the campaign trail  today sounding completely from last night. He sounded stronger, focused and full of confidence and conviction.

So what happened at last night’s debate?

Maybe his performance last night was an anomaly. Former and would be President’s have succumbed to first debate poor performances i.e. Obama, Bush (41)  Ronald Reagan and others.

President Biden has to find and use his, “Mojo” to persuade the American people and some in his own party that he can become President again.

He needs to display that during the next debate.

We’ll see what’s in store from both candidates on the the next and final debate in September.

Best debate moments in history

Well it’s finally come to this… the debate between former President Donald J Trump and current President Joseph Biden finally  happens.

There will only be two debates, the first on June 27,2024 and the second will be on September 10th 2024.

The debate will answer many questions about about the Candidates and will confirm or debunk  what ha been said about both them.

The Groovisphere believes the debates really will help voters, especially the Independent(s) who they will vote for.

Former President Trump Found Guilty on all 34 Counts!

Former President Donald J Trump has been found guilty by a jury of his peers on the Hush Money trial and Election Fraud by the State of New York . The former President was convicted on all counts. including falsifying business records and breaking Federal Election Campaign laws.

Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg thanked the Jurors for their service citing that their participation in the process is a cornerstone of the Judicial system.

He further thanked the jury for their careful attention to the evidence and the rule of law. He added that the jury had essentially  been presented with mountains of evidence from a myriad of testimony from witnesses and was backed with text messages, phone call log records, and e-mails They heard recordings, saw cancelled checks, and invoices.

He ( Bragg) went on to give a history of the Manhattan Attorney’s office and their commitment to their Independence and integrity.

Upon hearing the verdict, President Trump continued his grievances and complaints outside the Courtroom promising to “keep fighting” and ” this is long from over”.

We’ll  track and see what happens next.

 

Jury deliberation for Donald J Trump starts today…

A New York  jury began deliberation of the hush money trial of the State of New York vs former former President Donald J Trump. The former President was indicted of multiple counts. including falsifying business records and breaking Federal Election Capaign laws.

Judge Juan Merchant gave the 12 jurors over an hour of  very specific instructions what they can and must consider when reaching a verdict. He explained to the jury all of the counts and other legal concepts including, “intent” in rendering a verdict.

After the jury convened  to begin deliberating  the former President emerged from the courtroom to go to the lobby  launching  into his usual list of grievances that he has enumerated  at his previous trials and on his platform, Truth Social.

We’ll keep on tracking and updating this as circumstances warrant or until a verdict is rendered .

 

The State of New York vs. Donald J Trump rest their case…

The Prosecution for the State of New York and the Defense team representing former President Donald J. Trump rested their prospective sides in the criminal trial against the former President.

Donald Trump did not take the stand in his defense.

The last witnesses to testify were for the Prosecution former Attorney and former fix-it man Michael Cohen who gave riveting testimony about the scheme that he and presidential hopeful and nominee Donald Trump to pay off and silence adult film star Stormy Daniels with a payoff of $130,000 who was about to go to the tabloid newspaper, The National Inquirer claiming she had sex with the Presidential hopeful in 2016.

The scheme was an elaborate process in which Michael Cohen would pay off Daniels himself and Donald Trump would pay him back under the guise of legal services provided

The problem was not the payoff but the reason why which was to blunt any bad publicity that would hurt Trump chances of winning the Presidency going into the final months of the election.

The prosecution claims that the payoff this and not reporting to the the Federal Elections Commission, breaks federal law including fraud and other Federal statues.

On cross examination in the final days of the trial the defense got Cohen to admit that while working Trump he stole money from the Trump campaign and after leaving Trump he profited from his notoriety in publishing several books, (with possibly third one) along with a video and audio Podcasts.after leaving Trump.

Of course this was after serving prison time for committing several crimes that he claims were at the direction of Trump who was boss at that time.

The last witness for the defense was Attorney Robert Costello, a Trump ally who was called to the witness stand to testify. Cohen, who was looking for legal representation was suggested by Rudy Giuliani  to consider Costello for representation. Costello testified further that Michael Cohen told him he paid Stormy Daniels on his own and that Donald Trump had no knowledge of his payments and that his has “nothing on Trump”.

Cohen never hired Costello to represent him in any legal matters.

Later during his testimony Costello began to answer questions from Trump’s defense team but faced objections that were from the Prosecutor. Costello’s reactions  were  comments and outbursts such as ” geeze strike that, and this is ridiculous”.  That behavior showed disrespect to the Court where the Judge,Juan Merchan ordered the Jury and others out of the Courtroom and about Costello about respecting the Court. He admonished him about his body language directed toward him that showed disrespect and would not be tolerated in his courtroom and did he understand what he was being told. Costello acknowledged the Judge’s concerns and the Jury,  Press,  and others were called back into the Courtroom.

The testimony continued with no further incident.
